Two-in-One

Open group seminars

Getting started: FMEA method and IQ Basic functionalities

Seminar content at a glance

Compact bestseller seminar: Use the necessary methodological knowledge learnt directly in the software

  • Introduction to FMEA methodology (AIAG/VDA) with 2 practical examples (DFMEA and PFMEA)

  • Tips for organising an FMEA project

  • FMEA creation with APIS IQ software (AIAG/VDA)

  • Action tracking

  • Search and reuse information

  • Process flow diagram and control plan

On the first day of the seminar, you will learn how to create an FMEA methodically and correctly using practical examples. On the other two days, you will learn step-by-step about all the functionalities of the IQ software that you need to set up, maintain and analyse an FMEA. We will also show you how to create a process flow diagram and/or a control plan as well as their interfaces to the process FMEA.

Target group

The seminar is aimed at FMEA beginners without previous methodological knowledge who are to be prepared for the safe use of the IQ software for the independent realisation of FMEA tasks.

Seminar content: FMEA method

Introduction to the FMEA methodology according to AIAG/VDA

  • Presentation of the different types of FMEA

  • Team composition for an FMEA

  • Risk assessment: RPN vs. AP

  • Evaluation catalogues and AP tables

  • 7 steps of FMEA creation:

    (1) Planning and preparation

    (2) Structure analysis

    (3) Function analysis with function nets

    (4) Failure analysis with failure nets

    (5) Risk analysis with evaluation

    (6) Optimization with effectiveness control

    (7) Results documentation

Joint creation of FMEA examples

  • Development of practical examples for design FMEA and process FMEA

  • Final discussion on methodological issues

Seminar content: FMEA with APIS IQ software

7 steps of FMEA creation for DFMEA

  • Step-by-step data input in the structure (system elements, functions, failures, etc.) using the DFMEA example

  • Administration dialogues

  • Creation of function and failure nets by cause and effect

  • Creation of the FMEA form

  • Input of actions with responsibility and deadline

  • Risk assessment

  • Action tracking and effectiveness control
