APIS IQ-Software 8.0 Service Pack 0040
Service Pack-Version 8.0 - 0040
CDM Server:
The new version of the CDM-Server V1.1.0 is required to use the CDM together with IQ-SoftwareV8.0 - 0040.
Further details and changes can be found here. [V8-2460]
General:
Table editors now have an additional display option "Show notes in header where available" similar to the option "Show notes where available". [V8-1613]
The quality rule "Actions groups without measures but with A/E ratings < 10" now also takes faded in actions into account. [V8-1913]
Layout elements can be given their own color or alternatively the color of their “object type” in the “Fonts and colors” dialog. To do this, the new check box “Use text color of object types” must be active. [V8-1978]
Functional Safety: Instead of displaying the sum of the processing times, now the maximum processing time is shown for the safety goal violation.
The display option "Fault Tolerance Time Interval (minimum)" (new: "Fault Tolerance Time Interval (minimum/maximum)") now shows also the maximum processing time for each node in the Failure Net. [V8-2216]
There is a new workstation setting "Assign None Action automatically if O=1" in tab "Actions" (default: inactive). Previously this always happened since V8.0. [V8-2255]
The existing workstation setting "Derive actions for customer operations: only for error detections" is now called "Derive actions for customer operation: Error detections and reactions as detection actions" (default: active). Its behavior was changed accordingly. [V8-2302]
Excel-Ex-/Import:
Excel-Import: When updating characteristics, requirements, etc., it is necessary to identify the target objects in IQ whose attributes are to be updated. For this purpose, a checkbox in the column header can now be used in the import dialog to specify which criterion or criteria should be used for identification (e.g. the name or the ID number). [V8-1389]
Excel-Import: When updating characteristics, requirements etc., there is now the option "Delete attribute value if Excel cell is empty". If this option is active, attributes of IQ objects are deleted when updating if the corresponding Excel cell is empty. If the option is not active, the corresponding attributes of the IQ objects are not changed when updating (as before). [V8-1762]
Only with Maintenance License:
A new statistical analysis is available: “Causes based on net connections”. You can use it for the analysis types “Analysis of structures” and “Analysis of cause-based forms”. Causes based on the number of direct net connections in effects direction will be listed. [V8-1713]
The following bugs have been fixed with this service pack:
V8-2066, V8-2203, V8-2279, V8-2384Service Pack-Version 8.0 - 0030
General:
The new workstation setting "System Optimization | Other | Optimized palette entries" allows for anti-aliasing in form editors. [V8-1224]
Text search (Ctrl+F): You can now also search in the “User-defined attributes” tab. [V8-1523]
Actions which are faded in somewhere else now show a distinctive object type icon. [V8-1680]
You can now define a custom "Numbering" color as well as a color for "IQ object ID" via "Tools | Settings | Fonts and colors..." dialog. [V8-1936]
Filtering: the criterion “Number of effects/causes” is now also available in the forms editor. [V8-2080]
Editors:
Excel import in Deadline Customer Requirements Editor: The assignment of (symbolic) deadlines in Excel to Customer Requirements in IQ has been improved. [V8-1338]
Process Flow Diagram: A cover sheet is now also available here (similar to the FMEA form, Control Plan, etc.). [V8-1439]
Graph Editor: Using the display options you can now show a short form of the comment in each node. [V8-1540]
Workstation setting "Table Editors | Fold System elements when opening a table editor":
- Synchronising a system element unfolds it, e.g. from the structure editor into the FMEA or AIAG/VDA form.
- If an FMEA form contains only one system element, the system element is unfolded. [V8-1676, V8-1988]
Object Inspector:
You can now show and edit inspection equipments and machines in Object Inspector. [V8-1657]
You can now show and edit all attributes of a person in Object Inspector. [V8-1779]
Statistics Editor:
In the results table of the "Difference Analysis", there is a new column “Notes AP”. [V8-1505]
In the "Risk Matrix AP" the summary always shows all Action Priorities available in the catalog. If there is no data for a priority category in the evaluation, the value 0 is displayed. [V8-2044]
License server:
A new version of the APISGMBH vendor daemon (version 11.19.6.0) is available. This provides compatibility with new functions on the FlexNet license server (e.g. reporting tool lmreporter). This functionality is only available server side and requires a Docker based lmreporter installation.
Attention: Only use this new vendor daemon if you are using V7.0 Service Pack 0190 (or newer) or Version 8.0 of the IQ-Software. Older versions of V7.0 can not access the license server any longer after the upgrade.
You can download the new vendor daemon here:
https://download.apis.de/v8/ApisVendorDaemon_80201.zip
A current version of the license server is available as well:
https://download.apis.de/v8/lmadmin-x64_n6-11_19_6_2.exe [V8-1922]
CARM and CARM-NG-Server:
There are now instructions on our homepage for data transferal from CARM NG Server for "CSS Functional Safety":
https://www.apis-iq.com/sl/datatransfer-carmng [V8-1170]An inserted module used its module version number as the number of its root system element (if this did not have an explicit number set). Now the module version number is no longer used for this. [V8-1756]
The following bugs have been fixed with this service pack:
V8-2002, V8-2014, V8-2018, V8-2037Service Pack-Version 8.0 - 0020
General:
The possibility to assign multiple classifications to functions, characteristics and failures is now always active. Files from version 7.0 (and earlier) that were using single classifications are automatically converted on opening in V8.0. [V8-2]
You can now assign one or more "Inspection Categories" to an inspection (also variant-specific). You can manage the inspection categories in "Administration | Attributes and categories". [V8-44]
The history concept is no longer offered in V8. [V8-54]
When converting the template file, new standard values are automatically created:
- Naming patterns for failures
- Evaluation criteria (FMEA scope)
- AIAG/VDA - AP & evaluation catalogs
- Labels of the noise factor categories (P diagram) [V8-85]
8D report: Previously, it was only possible to synchronize from an 8D report to a set object. The opposite direction is now also possible: from the object to the 8D report. [V8-94]
When calculating the classifications in an FMEA Form automatically the compatibility option "Calculation based on maximum of O/D valuation (can originate from different actions groups" is now per default turned off. You can activate it manually in "Tools | Document settings | Classification" if needed. [V8-100]
In the administration, "naming patterns for failures" can now be created in the "Attributes and categories" area.
These templates can then be created automatically for a selected function using the context menu ("Create failures").
If the "Documentation required" checkbox is set for the corresponding template in the administration, any variant exclusion and the deletion of such a failure for the function is documented. [V8-108]
There is now a structure cover sheet analogue to the container cover sheets. [V8-111]
The German translation of structure type "Design" ("Konstruktion") was changed to "Design" in accordance with the AIAG/VDA handbook. [V8-120]
Requirements can now also be imported and updated with the attribute values for the specification. [V8-131]
It is now possible to assign classifications to failure, function and characteristic types.
When creating new instances of one of these types, the set classifications are adopted. [V8-137]
The favorites from the "Select command" dialog are now also displayed in the toolbar. [V8-163]
If the new workstation setting "Copy | Copy the variant-specific values when copying" is activated when copying within a structure, all variant-specific values are now copied.
This behavior also applies to Special D&D (D&D + Ctrl). [V8-164]
The modelling of follow-pages for the cover sheet was changed to simply their behavior. Now all follow-pages are variant-specific in their entirety. There are no longer interactions between variant-specific follow-pages and follow-pages of the main structure. If you delete the last variant-specific follow-page, the follow-pages of the main structure are visible again in the variant. [V8-171]
The meeting log now contains changes to revision states and action groups. [V8-178]
In the workstation settings there is a new option "Derive actions for customer operation: only for error detections". This can be used to control whether actions are also derived for error reactions. [V8-184]
You can now assign a variant-specific background color for all IQ objects. [V8-192]
The terms of the measure status in the MSR environment have been adjusted. [V8-194]
We are now considering faded-in actions also in the structure for determining the status of a revision state/action group. [V8-241]
When "Read/update template", the print jobs from presentation printing and web publisher are listed individually. [V8-246]
You can now reset the display options of an editor by pressing a button on the starting page of the display options dialog. [V8-258]
You can now use "File | Extended | Translate document automatically" to translate all (or missing or out-of-date) terms in a document from the reference language to a content language in one go. Please note that using an automatic translation service may incur costs! [V8-296]
In the workstation settings, the "Application components" section has been expanded to include additional areas (such as CARM Server). [V8-306, V8-447, V8-448, V8-449]
Bookmarks: A filter criterion is now offered with which you can search for bookmarks. If it is an object bookmark, the name or notes, for example, can be used as a criterion. [V8-308]
The workstation and document settings relating to the meeting log have been standardized.
The workstation setting "General | Create meeting log" has been removed.
Instead, there is now the document setting "Administration | Record details" as a dependent option of "Create meeting log for this document". [V8-179, V8-347]
The document setting "Classification | Enable assignment of multiple classifications" has been removed.
It is now always possible to assign multiple classifications by default. [V8-370]
The XML interface receives the new draft version msrfmea30_1 of DTD and XSD. [V8-410]
XML interface: the variant-specific values are now stored with the single elements. This leads to a significant speeding up of export and import. [V8-423]
Versioning (forms, etc.): when versioning, a PIM entry can now be created and information can be defined for it. [V8-427]
When copying and pasting, document languages are no longer created in the target document. This applies, for example, if the copy comes from another FME document or when inserting CARM server modules. [V8-432]
Properties dialog: When searching in "User defined attributes" the notes of the attributes are now searched as well. [V8-472]
In the workstation and document settings as well as in the display options of all editors, some of the standard settings have been revised. [V8-487]
The "last used commands" from the "Select command" dialog are now also displayed in the toolbar. [V8-496]
An AP catalog now has an optional extendend AP range for its priorities. In addition to the existing AP values L, M and H there is "-" (ignored), "S" (Safety-relevant) and "T" (Top). You can choose which values each AP catalog should support in its Properties Dialog. For each value you can also choose a color in "Tools | Parameters for color coding".
This allows you to use different strategies for risk evaluation within IQ Software, e.g. the risk priority level (RPL) approach. The template file contains a special RPL catalog for this purpose. [V8-521]
The different bookmarks can now be recognized by different icons. The tooltip shows the respective bookmarks directly. [V8-538]
It is now possible to create a PIM entry for the FMEA forms, the cause-centred FMEA forms, the DRBFM worksheets, the process flow diagrams, the control plans and the design verification plans. This also applies to the respective versions. [V8-540]
You can now optionally define access rights not only for structures but also for variants. Using the "Tools | Access rights" dialog you can switch back to the old behavior using the checkbox "Only structures" if you do not need this functionality. [V8-566]
If the rating of a preventive action is set to 1 and no detection action exists yet, a detection action "none" is automatically created. [V8-568]
Filter ex/import: userdefined attributes which groups filters are exported now. During import existing userdefined attributes will be reused again. New userdefined attributes are imported also if the appropriate check box is active. [V8-581]
The document setting "Calculate the classification of characteristics/functions automatically" now calculates differently: Only direct failures are considered. For each not rejected actions group in the last, not rejected revision state it is checked if its S/O/D valuation matches a calculation rule.
The new compatibility option "Calculation based on maximum of S/O/D valuation (can originate from different failures)" in "Document Settings | Classification" allows you to fall back to the previous behavior. [V8-593]Notes etc.: Text templates that are saved in the FME can now also contain embedded graphics. [V8-608]
If the workstation setting "Actions | Copy O/D values for new action groups/revision states from previous state" is active, the O/D values are now copied from the previous not rejected state. [V8-614]
The toolbar has been restructured (areas: General, View, Edit) and extended with icons for focusing. [V8-616]
Filters: these can now also have background color, user-defined attributes and ID numbers. [V8-624]
It is now possible to define individual objects (system elements, functions, failures etc.) as "layout elements", which can be used to organise the structure list more clearly, for example. To do this, select the "Is layout element" attribute in the "Attributes" tab of the properties dialog. A separate color can be defined for layout elements in the "Fonts and colors" dialog. [V8-572, V8-649]
XML interface: variant-specific functional safety values are included in the XML draft version. [V8-743]
When "Read/update template", user defined views are listed individually. [V8-758]
The new “CDM Administration” editor can be opened via the “Administration” menu. It is used to manage the CDM Server Business Units and their projects. Among other things, the projects can be opened in IQ software. [V8-763]

Structure Editor:
In the structure editor, the orthogonal line display can now be selected via the display options. [V8-231]
To be able to quickly recognize which system elements have hidden objects in the structure editor graphics window, a new icon can be displayed in front of these system elements via “Graphics window | Hot-click symbols | Contains variant exclusions”.
This option is not active by default. [V8-1251]
Tools and Dialogs:
The icons for comments and user-defined attributes are now displayed in the forms management dialogs. [V8-89]
The menu commands “Select document language...”, “Create a new document language...” and “Delete document language...” are combined in the command “Extras | Change document languages...”. The current document language can now be changed in a dialog. It is also possible to create or delete new document languages. [V8-431]
